Bumanik is pleased to announce the first of ore production on keuno Block that started on 3 December 2017 .
Bumanik production profile is supported by the high-grade oxide JORC resource and also as the result from mine planning that already done by our team in the past several month started from July 2017
The proposed method of mining is a conventional open pit, drill and blast, load and haul operation. Low strip ratio mining will commence at the beginning of February 2018
Drill and blast operation is planned assuming twelve metre benches and only 50% of waste and ore expected to need blasting. Marginal grade and waste stockpiles have been designed with future expansion potential considered.
The product will be transported from Morowali to Kendari Port by jetty. This will require an existing 6.3 km haul road to Jetty. 15m3 truck payloads of the initial nickel ore production from Bumanik to a new trans-shipping facility to be constructed adjacent to the existing Morosi port. The trans-shipment and capacity modelling study, incorporating the current sea conditions from Bumanik to the off-shore load point, were conducted by Kemala Shipping. The proposed solution provides for the load 5,000t barges which will transport the material to an offshore.
