Eid Al-Adha, famous for its title as the Festival of Sacrifice, is the second biggest day in Islam after Eid Al-Fitr. Unlike its contemporary, Eid Al-Adha assumes different essence; sacrificing our valuable possession for others who are in need. Such is the reminiscence of a throwback era in which the famous occasion involving two Islamic prophets Ibrahim and his son Ismail took place. It is well-known that Ibrahim willingly decided to sacrifice his son as his faith was put into test by God. Admired by Ibrahim’s devotion, Ismail then was replaced with a ram. Ever since that moment, the tradition lives on as an act to commemorate the courageous and selfless act of Ibrahim and Ismail.
On August 11th 2019, Bumanik continued the tradition as it actively participated in Qurban (sacrifice) activity. Bumanik provided 7 cows and 3 rams to be sacrificed and distributed them to local people and employees.
“We believe that the continuity of our activity is based on goodwill and nothing represents it more than sharing what we have in abundance.” said Mr. Alit Saripudin, Bumanik’s Support Manager. “Events like this bring everyone together. It brings smiles to our faces when we share the meats and eat it together, and we believe that togetherness is the key to success.” replied the ever-warm Mr. Alit when asked about distributing meats to Bumanik’s employees. He went on to comment, “I’m well-aware that cholesterol levels among employees are going to skyrocket after Eid Al-Adha, but I hope so are their performances!”
The same thing was also pronounced by Mr. Gunawan Wibowo, Bumanik’s Operation Manager. “None of this would ever happen without the blessing and support of the local people. Hence, that is why Eid Al-Adha is regarded as the timely moment to give it back to the people because our success is partially theirs as well.”
