On July 11th 2019, Bumanik was duly appointed as the host for comparative studies on Good Mining Practice (GMP) by virtue of its exemplary method and execution in mining practice. The event was attended by Yanmart Nainggolan, B. Eng, CES, who assumes the role of Head of Palu’s Energy and Mineral Resources Office, with Site Managers from various mining companies in Central Sulawesi participating as well. The idea was initiated by Palu’s Energy and Mineral Resources Office and its aim is to demonstrate Bumanik’s mining practice as a pilot project. The event kicked-off with reception from Bumanik’s General Manager, Mr. Yul Widiasentosa, and Bumanik’s Site Manager, Mr. Alwansyah, followed afterwards by presentation from Mr. Alwansyah and mining site visit with other participants.
Bumanik’s mining method was highly lauded by Mr. Nainggolan and other participants for its adherence towards GMP and regulations. Bumanik was also showered with praises for having achieved high numbers of ore production although creating only few open-pit mines. Environmental aspect was also the main highlight as Bumanik, once again, was duly applauded with reclamation phase already underway. Commitment towards the restoration of ecosystem and its implementation has been done ever since its commencement. Bumanik always sticks to its vision and mission and it is to become number one nickel producer in Asia and diversified mineral resource company that follow good mining practices and regulations and consistently create a sustainable, environmentally friendly value that can be the benchmark of mining practice for other mining companies to follow.
