The biggest Asian event for the global nickel industry ,5th Asian Nickel Conference was held in Jakarta on the September 27, 2017 . One of the speaker Agus Suhartono ,COO of PT.Bumanik talks about nickel processing technology and products. Together with Arie Ariotedjo, CEO of PT. Antam and Bambang Gatot (on behalf), Directorate General of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Agus Suhartono said that “How does the smelter strategy fit with the Indonesian nickel market?”. Firstly, look at the Nickel Reserves and Resources, in this case Indonesia is number one on the list. Second, the Base Line of Downstream Project; Know the resources & reserve, good mining practice on mining operation, and Downstream with technology that fit the ore spec & characteristic. Thirdly, Initial Investigation to determine the Block IUP area, and make the Resource classification map, map of drilling plan, and the drilling core.

The next step to make map of drilling realization then we can get more information about our IUP area, and we can mapping the nickel distribution grade as well as the ore classification. Third step is the mining operation; mine planning, determine the cut off grade for saleable ore & processed ore, and Inventory Management divided into: low grade, medium grade and high grade. The last one, fourth step is virtual stockpile, it enables firms to continue operating while finding a solution to an unexpected event that cause a supply disruption or demand surge.
